T. Smith, Ph.D., C.B.S.M. - Founder and Chief Clinical Officer
Dr. Smith is Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine*.
He is the Director of the Johns Hopkins Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program and is licensed clinical psychologist,
certified in Behavioral Sleep Medicine by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Dr. Smith is a leading expert
on insomnia and sleep loss and actively conducts ongoing research support by the National Institutes of Health
and industry. Dr. Smith earned his B.A. magna cum laude in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of
Notre Dame and he earned his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional
Psychology. After completing specialized training in behavioral medicine as a fellow in the Department of Anesthesiology
at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Dr. Smith joined the faculty at the University of Rochester School of Medicine.
Dr. Smith was recipient of a prestigious 2-year National Research Service Award Fellowship to further specialize in sleep disorders.
In 2001, Dr. Smith joined the faculty at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
